My Baby is Standing!

I can't believe it, but Colin is standing! I wanted to see if he could do it, and he did! He can't balance by himself yet, but he holds on to furniture and stands for a couple minutes! My big boy!

On another note, I took Colin for his 6 month pictures today, and they turned out very cute! As soon as I get them back, I'll scan them and upload them.

Colin has his 6 month month appointment tomorrow, so I'll post about that.

6 Months Old

My precious baby is 6 months old! I feel like I was in labor with him just yesterday. He's growing and changing every day. It's amazing!

9 Years

Today Miguel & I have been together for 9 years! So much has happened in that time...I graduated from high school, we both graduated from college, got married, and bought a house, and had a baby!

My life is so perfect. I love you Miguel, and thank God for you every day!

Happy Birthday Katie, Valerie & Emma!

I just want to wish Katie, Valerie & Emma a very happy birthday!

My Birthday Party

Last night Miguel organized a small get together of family and a few close friends to celebrate my birthday. I had so much fun, and everyone really made me feel special. This was my first nirthday as a mommy, and it was a very memorable one. Thank you to everyone who called, e-mailed, myspace commented, and celebrated with me!

Who's Not Watching the Superbowl?

ME! Why, you ask? Because I'll be working. I forgot to request off. Kind of sucks. Last year I called into work and had a superbowl party instead. So while Colin is enjoying his very first superbowl party with his papi, I'll be working. Yay for me.

A Pretty Picture

I took a few pictures of out house yesterday when it was snowing. Not quite a wintery wonderland, but 1/8 of an inch still counts as snow!

I've Figured Out the Secret...

To getting Colin to eat peas! He ate carrots for the first time the other day, and I decided to mix the peas with the carrots...because you always see peas & carrots together. Colin ate them...in fact, he ate them all and he didn't even make the "disgusted pea face!" That was Monday. I did the same thing again yesterday, and he ate them again. Today was day 3, and he ate them again! We hae a little veggie eater on our hands! Colin loves carrots & sweet potatoes. Today he tried applesauce for the first time, and ate the entire jar in record time! He's such a good eater!

Update on Solid Foods

So far Colin has had rice cereal - which he loves, oatmeal - which he loves, green beans - which he loves, sweet potatoes - which he lovees, squash - which he likes, and peas - which he HATES. It's really cute giving him the peas because he makes this face - like he's completely disgusted, then he swallows, then he starts to cry. But hey, 3 out of 4 veggies so far isn't that bad! Who likes peas anyway?

So the picture had nothing to do with him eating, I just thought it was cute and wanted to post it!

My Baby is 5 Months Old!

I can't believe it, but my baby is 5 months old! It feels like just yesterday he entered the world, and today he's 5 months old? Where does the time go? His little personality is starting to show, and I know he is going to be the most sweet, angelic, kind little boy in the world! I can't wait to see him develop even more!

I've uploaded some new photos that I took of Colin today into the 5-6 Month folder on SmugMug.

Colin's First Green Beans

Colin tried his first jar of green beans today. He ate the entire jar and was looking for more. I snapped a few photos...I think he likes them! The rest of the photos can be found on my smugmug site.

Blah to Dreary Days

I hate the weather this past week. It's been horrible. Isn't Texas supposed to have hot sunny days? Even in the winter! If I wanted this kind of weather, I'd be back in NY...but it may even be nicer up there right now. Blah.

Blah. Blah. Blah.

I feel blah. These days are depressing. Blah.

Well, back to the real world. I must go rescue my son from the pinatas that have invaded his room. I hear them squealing...

Games, Games, & More Games!

So I seem to go through phases in which I am totally obsessed with something...usually a game of some sort. For the past couple of years it was Halo 2. I would play on XBOX Live day & night. I would stay up literally all night and go to work or school the next day. After I graduated from college, it seemed like I was so busy that I pretty much stopped playing altogether.

After Halo 2 came World of Warcraft on my computer. This one Miguel had been playing for about a year before I finally started playing...but once I started, I couldn't stop. I played non-stop for hours on end. I started to get a little tired of this one shortly after Colin was born. I didn't really have too much time to dedicate to playing, so I cancelled my account.

I've recently started playing the WoW Trading Card Game. I don't play that one as much because it is a one on one game, and only a few other family members are playing right now...but I do like it.

For the first time in well over a year, I played Halo 2 with Ashley last night...for over an hour. It was as much fun as I remember. Since Ashley's classes were cancelled today due to the weather, we played again for a couple of hours. I think I could get into playing all over again. HALO!

Safe Trip Home

I worked yesterday, all day long. The drive there in the morning was fine. The roads were great. That was a different story last night during my drive home. It took me 1 1/2 hours to get home. The roads weren't that bad...except for the bridges. Every single bridge had ice on it! I must have passed 15+ accidents. Once I got into the Allen/McKinney area, the roads got pretty bad. Praise God that I made it home safely to Miguel and my baby boy!

1 Year Ago...Today

Exactly 1 year ago today, while Miguel and I were in Denmark, we found out that we were expecting Colin. I had been so sick and Miguel insisted that I take a pregnancy test. I never even imagined that I was pregnant. I was completely shocked to see 2 lines!

Both of us have gone through so many changes in the past year...some good, some bad...but life is good. We have Colin, and our family is complete. God blesses us so much everyday!

Wow! Don't I look different there?

Colin's Carseat

I just wanted to post a picture of Colin sitting in his new car seat. He looks so tiny in it!

New Car Seat

Colin's new car seat arrived today. I am so excited about it! He hates his infant car seat because he's getting so big. The Britax Marathon is so big. Colin will disappear in it. I'm going to try to install it tomorrow, and I'll post pictures of Colin in the car seat.

Yearly Review

Yesterday I had to go to work for a little while to have my yearly review done. It was way past due...due back in October. Anyway, praise God, it was good. It was really good. It's always nice to have someone, especially your boss, tell you that they appreciate the job that you do.

They've set some goals for me this year; leveling up from a Level 1 RN to a Level 2 RN, becoming a charge nurse (which I am MOST excited about), and becoming a Team Leader for a new process that hasn't started yet. Yay!

Since I had to drive all the way down there and back, I asked my mom to babysit Colin for a while so I could stay and work for a little while. I enjoyed it. I really enjoyed it. I think that I'm going to start picking up more shifts here and there when I can get a sitter.
